At the core it uses an Axis2 based SOAP stack which enables the Web Services and layer above is the Integration engine which uses our connector architecture to enable remote data access. The integration framework has been designed to facilitate extendibility and as required new connectors can be provisioned which will expose it as Web Services which can be consumed by a WS-client across the Organization or beyond its boundaries.
